Annual conventions
Letter from SSA President Tony Porter
Dear SSA Members and Guests,
It is our pleasure to invite you to Nashville, Tennessee, for the 104th Annual Convention of the Southern Seed Association, January 12-15, 2024. As one of the hottest destinations in America, the Country Music Capital of the World offers top-notch accommodations, southern charm and nightlife second to none! The theme for this year’s convention is
Boots & Bling—It’s a Nashville Thing, so break out your western attire as the SSA rocks Nashville!
The beautiful Hilton Downtown Nashville at 121 4th Avenue South is conveniently located near the Bridgestone Arena, the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Ryman Auditorium and Broadway Street! You won’t want to miss the excitement offered by Downtown Nashville!
Saturday evening begins with a Welcome Reception where you can network and build relationships within our industry, followed by an evening of music at the Ryman Auditorium’s Grand Ole Opry show!
(There are limited tickets available, so register soon!)
The traditional SSA Sunday morning devotional service will be followed by a golf tournament at the new and exciting
Top Golf of Nashville. Meanwhile, the ladies will not want to miss their fun activities scheduled for Sunday and guys, there are also many locations nearby to watch the NFL playoff games. Sunday evening finds us enjoying dinner and history at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Monday morning kicks off our business meeting and trade show. The lineup of speakers for this session is both educational and informative, including our Keynote Speaker: John Newton, Chief Economist, United States Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry. Our trade show vendors will be displaying the latest in seed-related technology and equipment. Spouses will enjoy another fun event in Nashville during the business session. The President’s Reception and Banquet along with the $5,000 Drawdown and Silent Auction to benefit the SSA Scholarship Fund concludes the convention.
Exhibitors are invited to our Trade Show area, located just outside our meeting rooms. Display tables are available at no charge. Please take this opportunity to share your product or services with the group. Call the SSA office now to reserve a table!
We want to thank our generous SSA sponsors in advance for your continued support each year in helping to offset the expenses that are necessary for a successful and memorable convention. Sponsors will be recognized throughout the weekend and on our website.
